Life now a days is all about go, go, go. It seems that many of us don’t know what it means to truly rest. When life gets hectic, many of us want to just run away and hide from people and the world. Running away doesn’t help, but going into the secret place, that changes things. Sometimes we pretend that everything is okay when the truth is that everything is falling apart; at least that’s what the devil wants us to think. When life gets crazy and things naturally appear to be getting worse, we need to remember who our God is and the authority we have through Him.
Many of us have been waiting for days, months, and even years for God to answer some of the prayers that are the deepest desires of our hearts. When you go about your daily activities in life such as going to work everyday and you feel out of place, when you have conversations with people and forget everything that was said because your mind was drifting elsewhere, and when it hurts more to be around people than it does to be alone, it’s time to get into the secret place.
We are so bombarded every single day with the latest bad news from social media, television, and negative people, that it is difficult if not impossible to truly have alone time with God. While scripture says that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18), it also says that what is done in secret will be rewarded openly. While these verses appear to contradict each other, the realty is that they connect like a previously unresolved puzzle. What you do when no one is looking will be rewarded when everyone is watching.
Going into the secret place takes sacrifice because it isn’t easy, but neither is constantly knocking on doors having faith that God will open one. You are only rewarded in public, but you won’t receive your breakthrough until you build endurance in private. God doesn’t give rewards to people who ask for them, He gives them to people who love Him. God created us to be in community, but the secret place was designed for us to build spiritual and emotional immunity.
If you’re injured and losing trust in God, spending alone time alone with Him will help you heal so that the devils lies can’t get close to you because they’ll fry like your an electric eel.”He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Pslam 91:1 KJV.
Isolation is not a good thing, but going into the secret place to prophetically build endurance for your public victory, that’s a God thing.
