I don’t know about you, but many times I feel stressed when I always need to know what time it is. Everywhere I turn around there is a clock telling me when I need to be somewhere, when I’m late, when I need to wake up, and when I need to go to sleep. One of the things I believe we forget sometimes is that God works outside of time. 2 Peter 3:8 says: But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. When I was in Pemba, Mozambique last summer on a missions trip, I encountered God in a way I had never encountered Him before.
There were no cell phones, no internet access for most of us, and best of all, no clocks. Church didn’t start at 9:00 am, it started at 9ish. I found it amazing how people just knew when to gather without knowing what time it was. I felt a sense of peace in my spirit that I have never felt in my life prior to that trip. In a time where we are more connected than ever through social media, we are also the most disconnected generation because of social media. Many times I have felt like I’m running out of time in my life. As the days and years go by, I think a lot about what my life truly means, and I think about why I’m here. I’m passionate about seeing Muslims encounter the heart of Jesus, I’m passionate about worship, I’m passionate about empowering people in their spiritual gifts, I’m passionate about seeing people delivered and set free from bondage, and I’m passionate about making a difference in peoples lives that will impact the next generation.
God is never in a hurry, but He’s always on time. It’s never too late to become the person God created you to be, because when you become the person He created you to be, you will never want to be anyone else.
